HTC sues Apple with patents received from Google
HTC, in the midst of a legal battle with Apple, has shot back with a new lawsuit today.

The smartphone maker, using patents it obtained from Google just last week, has filed an infringement suit and is the third such suit between the companies in the last two years.

Nine patents, originating from Palm Inc., Motorola Inc. and Openwave Systems Inc. and now in Google's possession, were transferred to HTC on September 1st.

The new suit is over four patents, and HTC's current complaint with the US ITC has been amended to add the other five.

Apple is in legal battles over Android and smartphone patents with Samsung, Motorola Mobility and HTC.

Me too, but they'll win somewhere else. There's not a way out of these everlasting fights. Just imagine where would we be, technologically speaking, if patents didn't exist. Outside the solar system, as minimum, for sure.
