PlayStation 3 jailbroken again for games all the way up to v3.73

PlayStation 3 jailbroken again for games all the way up to v3.73
This has been a rumor since Wednesday but now appears to be confirmed.

The PlayStation 3 has been jailbroken again, with users playing pirated games that require the latest firmware, v3.73.

Dubbed JB2 (Jailbreak 2), the new jailbreak, is a dongle available in Indonesia.

JB2 costs $45 and can play a large amount of games on burnt/pressed BD media, but not off of the PS3's HDD like in past jailbreaks.

The details on how to burn the games yourself will be available next week, but for now games like PES 2012, FIFA 2012 and God of War Origins have all been confirmed via video:

I'll wait to download it like the previous jailbreaks. $45 for a dongle...lol I also expect they'll fix the requirement for physical media soon as well.

    Just my $0.02,

I give it a week at most before it's available for free for boards or TI calcs.

Doesnt expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected and therefore mean youre expecting the expected which was the unexpected until you expected it?

How long before Sony has a conniption too? Besides, or on top of that, who in their right mind is going to drop $50 bucks each time there's a new or needed update? Granted, that's probably been a question asked multiple times before and I'm sure, dependent on the vendor, they would update the dongle for you accordingly, otherwise... that's money like pissing into the wind.

is there a use for this besides playing pirated games? in short no. paying for piracy lol. if this was an actual jailbreak you could run your code etc. this is literally piracy for profit and should be looked down on by all types of gamers poor or not.

A lot of people would. Games are $60 each new.

In short yes, users can play back up games..Can people play pirated games? Sure, but it also allows or at least open the door for hackers to get home brew running. This opens door for emulation, among other things.

If people can drop $50.00 for a mod then they sure as sh** could pay $60.00 for a game.
No excuses.. Trying to impress your 15 year old friends doesn't cut it.
No need for a cat & mouse game if you pay the man or whip out the old C64.

$50.00 to a company that's not Sony is sure better than $60.00 to Sony.

At the end of the day, its your choice to buy the dongle or not. Those who think that this will be ported to cfw , have patience including me, Cobra's Features got ported to Multiman so have hope.

P.S since i live very close (Australia) to Indonesia i might get one shipped if there real and sell it for double :D

Always remember youre unique, just like everyone else.

"$50.00 to a company that's not Sony is sure better than $60.00 to Sony."

Do it if you think it is the way to do things.

You will be forever chasing your tail.

If you you do not think Sony employs people with brains you are mistaken.

Some of these Sony Employees were once pirates themselves.

Haven't pirated anything since my Amiga days. It would take you all day to D/L two compressed floppy disks with a 300 baud modem.
At the time it was fun and games. Now people end up as Bubba's bitch for doing the same thing..

1.) It will probably be ported to MultiMan, with HDD support before you receive your dongle.

2.) $50 for a dongle that sells for the equivalent of $5 overseas is just a slap in the face.

3.) The fact that it is tied to a CFW with no OtherOS support or HDD support really kills the whole point of CFW unless you are a pirate. It is obvious why they did this...the stores selling them are also selling pirated copies of games.

I wonder if I update, would the old update work as well because I want to use the old update to play games from hard drive?

Also I hope new PS3 doesn't come with new update where I can't jailbreak it.

I heard that update comes with game disc to see if you have custom FW or fake/real game and then it blocks you from playing any games even real discs.

I was being sarcastic. Just my nature I guess.
Stanford U (SLAC) introduced me to the Amiga. It ran 256 color FTP (fast time plots). No PC or Apple could touch it with it having parallel processing Moto 68000 ay first. The Atari XXXX was the only thing that came close.

Besides the TI-99 that was my kids first exposure to computers. Should of never showed them how to play games. After a while they were able to destroy my best efforts.

Console elitists make me laugh. We all know the reason why games are coded for consoles and no longer PC's. By no means consoles are superior.
