Asus confirms launch date for quad-core tablet
Asus has confirmed the launch date for their upcoming quad-core tablet, the Transformer Prime.

The device will launch on November 9th and will be the first tablet to be powered by a Tegra 3 quad-core processor.

Additionally, the tablet will supposedly also come with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) which would put the tablet light years ahead of other current devices.

Furthermore, Asus is looking to "focus on innovation and product perfection" with two upcoming tablets in the Q1 2012.

Asus will also unveil Windows 8 tablets in the Q3 2012.

I want to know if it is a 1.0 quad core or a 1.5 or a 2.0 quad core. I am happy with my overclocked Iconia for now, but maybe mid 2012 I will be ready to trade up (after having the Iconia for one year). By then I want 64 gb internal storage with full SD card for 64 gb more and I also want a 2.5 quad core processor with 1080p resolution 10" screen for $400.00. Then I will trade up!

Couldn't they just make a touch screen laptop again? just when I was in the market to buy one of those they stopped making the things. couple of years later... WhAM! They come out with this thing called a tablet. A wafer that people complain about having issues typing on with any speed or constant correction. So some go out & buy a keyboard for their 'tablet'... lo & behold... what do we have again, but a damned laptop with a touchscreen!

    mumble,mumble,grumble...

This could be the answer LordRuss, I am quite tempted by this, the best of both worlds.

Well... yeah... but it kind of defeats the purpose of my old man rant. I like the design, don't get me wrong, but if I'm going to have all that stuff (refer back to OFB rant 2 panels earlier). Plus, the optical drive, hard drive, blah, blah... you get the argument & the fact I'm being winy. Kind of like the song said, "the good old days weren't always good & tomorrow isn't as bad as is seems", well, I'm just arguing for a bit of keeping it simple here. That's all.
