It looks really good. why is there not a USB on the pad it self though I wonder? Seems like to me it would be a must have.

Most likely due to size of the connector itself. Having a host USB port would force them to grow the unit's thickness.

That is why I chose the Acer Iconia in May 2011, because I wanted a full size USB port on the unit (not on a dock). I can have 64gb travel drives up the wazoo and never need internal storage on my tablet, I sure hope Acer answers this tablet in the next 6 months as I will be ready for a quad core 2.0 ghz tablet next May to replace my Iconia (hopefully with 128gb internal storage)!

Why do all of these tablet advertisements fail to list the software version?

I can assume, since it doesn't list ICS, that it is Honeycomb or even Gingerbread.

One might argue that the software version is the most important spec to list for comparability.

Unfortunately for them, all Blu-ray protections have been broken and BD rips can be found around the Internet, usually before the retail even hits shelves.

Or Even Gingerbread? What is wrong with you? The original Asus Transformer Was Released with Honeycomb 3.0.1 in like May. Why would they release the Transformer Prime 7 months later with Gingerbread?

I already put my Original Transformer for sale and preordered the Prime. The Transformer has been the best Tablet released and ASUS has been amazing with the updates, usually a week or two after the update is released or after a flagship like the Xoom gets it. We got 3.1 at least a month before the Acer Iconia and what's up with the USB talk again? I have NEVER used the 2 USB ports in the dock. When I first got it I tested a mouse, a USB drive, I even plugged in my PS3 controller, all worked well. But then I never used it again. I have the internal memory + 16 Gb Micro SD and I transfer all my files via WiFi so no need to connect anything. Still nice to have so I think the new dock is thinner and only has 1 USB port but that doesn't bother me cause again I never used them.

Thank You Asus for being awesome and cutting edge and providing such amazing support and updates for the best tablet ever created.

I would like to know the resolution though, if it records 1080p, does it display 1080p?

Also ASUS has stated it will receive ICS probably in the Q1 2012. Or maybe it will have ICS, who knows!!

Why as Android is so customizable? If you don't like it install a custom ROM its not like replacing the screen/RAM/internal storage?

All "love" for Asus asside, ;)
All I was trying to say is that I've seen releases for phone and tablets all over the place and they all say... ICS comming soon.

I'm sorry, but I don't trust a single one of these manufactures when it comes to that. Their track record is terrible!

I'm sitting on a Logitech Revue unit that has been promising Honeycomb for a year now. Still waiting.

For me it's current software UP FRONT or nothing at all.

Maybe things will be different in the future, but right now there is just too much difference between the versions. The "Most current" is critical.

Unfortunately for them, all Blu-ray protections have been broken and BD rips can be found around the Internet, usually before the retail even hits shelves.

I think your confusing the amazing Asus transformer with all the other crappy tablets. All the tablets went down in price at least 50 bucks and then much more. The Asus Transformer was the only Tablet that kept it's price and went down at most 20 dollars (excluding black friday sales obviously). This is obvious since the Trnasformer is the best tablet ever made (excluding the prime) and it was the best tablet ever priced being from the start $100 dollars cheaper then the other lame tablets. So at an amazing price, amazing value, amazing quality, an exclusive actually useful dock, constant timely updates and great support there was a constant demand and therefore it has been a huge success.

So please don't put the Transformer in with the bunch.

Hopefully the original or prime will get cheaper by next summer. It has great value but not trying to spend 499 on a tablet

Now I guess they're not ordering any more since the new Prime is coming out so now the resellers are starting to increase the price. It is now $404 on Amazon by a reseller.

Yep, until very recently, you couldn't get the the tablet + dock on eBay for less than $420 or so, which is great for resellers or those looking to upgrade. The only other tablet Ive seen keep that much value after 6 months is, of course, the iPad/iPad 2.
