Sony releases new tablet, is once again extremely late to the party

After over seven months of delays, Sony has released its foldable Tablet P device.

The tablet will be available on Sunday via AT&T, which will be offering the device on-contract or off. The tablet will cost a shockingly high $550 with no contract, and $400 with a two-year contract.



Running on Android 3.2, the device has dual 5.5-inch displays with 1024x480 resolution each, a 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, dual cameras 0.3/5MP and just 4GB internal storage.

The only saving grace for the tablet is 4G HSPA+ capability.

If you were to sign up with a contract, AT&T offers two options, 3GB of data for $35 or 5GB of data for $50.

They must think that the Sony brand name has the same amount of "JooJoo" as the Apple brand name. It doesn't. Not to mention that they are way late to the party. It's almost as if they're testing the water, but don't want to plunge all the way in. But they want to be able to say that at least they were in the water.
