U.S. Cellular workers sought nude pics on customers phones, lawsuit says
Lawsuit makes disturbing allegations against store workers.

It was filed by Lisa Blazek against U.S. Cellular, after she worked in a store in the city of Spencer, Iowa from 2007-2010. In it, she alleges that employees at the store would immediately search through customers phones for naked or sexually explicit images.

"If photos of that nature were found, they would show them throughout the store," the complaint reads. "Many times I would be called over to look at something only to find out that it was a sexual picture on a customer's phone."

She said the pictures ranged from simple nude photos to blatant sexually explicit material.

Her claims are denied by lawyers who are representing the company and four employees named in the lawsuit. It was filed last year.

Blazek claims her experience in the store was that of non-stop harassment, and that it only got worse once she complained. She claims her work hours were changed so she wouldn't be on shift with the worst offender, but that no disciplinary action was taken.

After she brought it to the attention of higher ups, a company investigator accused her of having a relationship with one of the alleged harassers and attempted to coerce her into abandoning her complaint altogether. Eventually, she quit her job, and is now seeking compensation for lost pay, health benefits, emotional distress and additional punitive damages.

The case comes as security experts warn about the amount of private information that smartphone users comfortably store on the device. Far from being compromised in a case of theft, there has also been cases of data being sent by malicious applications to remote servers. Several cases of photos being leaked from celebrity smartphones have also emerged in the past couple of years.

here's a freaking thought, don't store private data *pics and vids included* on a device that can be so easily manipulated. If it's not good enough for your personal friends and family to see, then don't store it on your smart phone.

I swear smart should be taken out of smart-phone and replace it with dumb. As the tech clearly manipulates the stupid.

These kind of cases are so hard to prosecute after the fact it isn't funny. Especially if she didn't document her actions.

If she didn't have the offenders written up for their behavior, keep her copy of the report & then the escalation causing her subsequent leaving, etc... Otherwise I see nothing but a hear say courtroom case that 'might' be a settlement to buy off her silence. Whether there is a huge preponderance of guilt or not.

Personally, I don't doubt is was going on, but I refuse to believe the instant she started to complain that it didn't almost immediately come to a halt. At least to a point that it couldn't be documented. Thus, the problem with proving the lawsuit.

if someone hands you a phone with nude photos on unless the people in the photos are underage then legally you can look at them.1 thing people learn when they are working with software is back up the data.

she quit her job i dont see why she should be filing a lawsuit.they should of taken the work place harassment seriously.they did change her shifts so she doesnt have to work with someone she didnt like which is a start.

If it is true or not, why would you store compromising pictures anywhere except your home unless you are an exhibitionist?

Lame, I know, but that's one way of looking at it. 2, if the behavior was 'still' bleeding over the shift changes, which was what was befuddled me, that caused her to quit; why didn't the offender get fired - alluding to a fact she may have very well been a piss poor employee.

Thus, again referring back to the changing shift hours, if she couldn't make the hours originally assigned, then try & make these assigned hours - you see how this gets out of hand. So she could very easily drum up a SH case as I myself can probably go into ANY phone store, pick up the repair ticket for ANY phone with a male name on the repair ticket, flip through the picture fold & pull up a nudie in the email or picture folder.

We've all got one. Don't lie. Anyone that says otherwise truly is full of unadulterated, prime, grade A, homogenized, honey dipped Bullshit & you know it. Even preachers have at least one (1), purely by accident, that they either forgot to get off the phone or thought they got rid of, but the damn thing simply won't die. And the fact is this lady knows it.

Is she a victim? Don't know. Put me in an interrogation room with her with another women present for 15 minutes & I'll tell you. Otherwise the courts are going to have to settle it. Personally, US Cellular is going to give her a bunch of money & make her sign a contract stating they'll sue her into the stone age if she ever says another word about the subject & we'll never hear a thing about this.
