Verizon makes 300Mbps FiOS package official

Verizon makes 300Mbps FiOS package official
Verizon has finally made their ultra-fast service official.

The company has dubbed the service "FiOS Quantum," and it will offer users 300Mbps downstream and 65Mbps upstream.

For $210 per month, you can access the fast fiber Internet, or get a discount to $205 per month if you sign up for a 2-year contract.

There are all new tiers and pricing now, outside of the Quantum. Verizon's "cheap" base plan of 15 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up will now cost $65 per month with a two-year contract, a far cry from the current $55 with one-year contract. That's where the bad news ends for Verizon fans, fortunately.

The current 25/25 tier is being replaced by a 50/25 plan, which will cost the same ($75) with two-year contract. The 50/20 is being replaced by a 150/65 plan that costs $95 per month.

Finally, there is a new 75/35 tier for $85.

So, they hide the severe cost increase with the unattainable service of 300Mb/sec that won't be available to anyone.
"Oh, I'm sorry, that speed is not currently available in your neighborhood."

Verizon is really becoming Apple. I guess the world sees Apple screwing the world and figures why shouldn't they?

And oh, what are the caps???

Oh, Im sorry... Did the middle of my sentence interrupt the beginning of yours?

I have 35M/35M and pay $39.99 per month. I think the above prices are the official rates but nobody pays them. I did get an email if I wanted to go to 75/75 for another $20/month.

There are no bandwidth caps that I'm aware of.

When will Verizon offer FIOS all over Houston? As soon as they do I'm dropping Comcast & signing up for FIOS. I want those super high speeds!!

I used to want Fios but I no longer care. Verizon is getting way too greedy. I currently have cable internet for about $40/month and routinely get over 4 MB/sec download and upload of around 400 Mbps. FIOS would now be a downgrade for me when cost is figured in. It would take at least the $75 plan to equal the speeds I get for $40 now.
