The Google Nexus 7 Tablet

The Google Nexus 7 Tablet
As expected, Google unveiled their first branded tablet today at the much-hyped I/O event.

The Google Nexus 7, built by Asus, will hit hands in 3 weeks, with pre-orders already available through the Google Play Store.

Google's first tablet has a 7-inch 1280x800 HD (216 ppi) back-lit IPS display, is powered by a quad-core Tegra 3 SoC and comes in 8GB or 16GB models. Additionally, the device is the first with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which is a slight update to Ice Cream Sandwich that adds a slightly "frosted" look to the OS and also adds Google's own version of Siri or S-Voice.

Additionally, the tablet has a large 4325 mAh battery for 8 hours of use, has built-in NFC, GPS and a 1.2MP front-facing camera.

The 8GB model is $199 and the 16GB model is $249. If you pre-order, Google is giving $25 in Google Play Store credit, as well. Get it here: Nexus 7

The Acer Iconia A510 tablet has USB, that is the one I am going for, when it releases here in New Zealand in a few weeks time.

the reason i think there is no need for expansion slot is cuz the tablet is meant to use it for cloud storage more than having people to use mic sd cards. since the idea is to stream wi-fi constantly and to use the cloud. To me 16gb is more than enough for storage, but it does suck that there is no usb port unless a future adapter will support it to able to transfer files through micusb at the bottom, but yes, I do think expandable SD card slot would be a nice add on.

Being nice always has its own consequences

16 gb is perfect but is also 250, and that price range i will wait to see what samsung will offer next, tab2 is $250 right now it has better specs besides the gpu/cpu IMO.
