Refurb third-generation iPads go on sale

Refurb third-generation iPads go on sale
Apple has begun selling refurbished models of the new third-generation Retina Display iPad through the official Apple Store.

The units will come with a $50 discount, selling for $449 for the base model with 16GB and Wi-Fi only.

Most likely, these refurbished units are the iPads that were hit with Wi-Fi issues back in April and were returned by unsatisfied customers.

The issues have since been resolved, but there is expected to be decent stock of the refurbished units available.

$50? Who would buy a refurb to save $50?

Apple should be ashamed of themselves.

Yeah with just a $50 discount I would get a new one. They should sell them for $100 off to have more effect.

Isn't the whole point of an Apple to waste lots of money? I know it isn't about features, and given the fact that they claim there will be no shortage of refurbished units, it clearly isn't quality. Shouldn't the refurb models sell for more? Do they have a little sticker on them that says refurbished? If so, and if it has an Apple logo, that extra Apple logo has to be worth at least a $100 markup (the primary apple logo is worth a $200 markup).

    $50...

Could they spare it...? It's SO 'repaired' that the blemish of the Scarlet letter "Refurbished" on its silken hide, chastises its existence so bad that they have to make people pay for their disbelief & scornful looks by only discounting the device (that might fail again) $50 whole bucks?

F*king thing costs 2xs what other tablets cost & the refurb pulls $50 under the retail boxed number. Would you walk onto a car lot where there were 6 cars parked side by side, all of them had the same number of miles on them - but one of them had been hit. $50,000 automobile... They repaired it, but the only difference was, they knocked off $500 bucks.

You gonna purchase that one over the brand, spankin assed new ones?
