AllThingsD: Apple confirms iPad Mini launch for October
Citing multiple sources, AllThingsD is reporting today that Apple will launch their 'iPad Mini' tablet in October, after the launch of the new iPhone in September.

The new iPad will get its own dedicated event, and come in at the rumored size of 7.85-inches.

Other rumored specs include a quad-core processor, the new dock connector, but no Retina Display. The tablet is rumored to sell for $299, above the Google Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire, but well below the base 10-inch iPad price.

If accurate, the move makes sense for Apple as the iPhone is the company's key device and there is little reason to divert attention away from it by unveiling a second device at the same time.

Apple will have some competition before the launch of the new iPhone, as Google/Motorola, Microsoft, Nokia and Amazon all have major events planned for the first week of September.

After delivering the shaft to Samsung like they did? They can pass 9mm kidney stones for a week straight all I care.

It's still going to be a weak, overwrought, under powered, tripe that will be roped to Apple only media & other over priced exploitative colonoscopy that Apple's propaganda machine will inevitably pander to their customers as being some kind of 'necessary' magic pill & 'only for them'.

Even when they pander to going 'cheap' they screw their customers over.

They could release a thousand-core super computer the size of an iPod nano, which somehow has a 40" screen, and which sells for $0.01...and the only way I'd even consider buying it is if I saw proof that they were losing a lot of money on every unit sold.

Aahh... another grossly uneducated & misrepresented individual who's eyes have whitened with blindness by the Apple's "Join Us" machine.

We would all like to tell you "we can help", but it may be to the point where you're only capable of delivering us mushrooms from your dark moist room.

Thanks for your pitiful, yet desperate input none the less.

The best and most efficient OS that ever existed was by Palm. Under tests it was proven that Tungsten could run 32 applications at the same time. To top it their applications have the smallest memory footprint bar none. HP was moronic in first buying then dumping it.
