Acer announces new Jelly Bean tablet

Acer has announced their latest, the Iconia Tab A110, a 7-inch Android tablet.

The new tablet runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and Acer says "it's a tablet that you can easily hold in one hand and still lets you enjoy web browsing, multimedia, or even work if you need to."

Under the hood, the A110 has a quad-core Tegra 3 processor at 1.2GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, a microSD slot and a 2MP front-facing camera.

The 7-inch LCM display has 1024x600 resolution and the tablet has a 3,420 mAh battery.

Additional ports include an HDMI and a microUSB 2.0.

So far, UK availability has been announced, at �179.99. U.S. and EU availability has not been announced yet.

Nothing wrong with quad core but as for now you just don't really need it (how many Android apps really need it?).

For my money the best value tablet on the market (and I put my money where my mouth is) happens to be right now the Ainol Novo 7 Fire.
It has very good benchmarks with a 1.5GHz dual core CPU & 1gb of Ram.

It has ther same spec nice high res 1280�800 IPS screen as the Nexus 7 but it has 16gb built in & most importantly scope for up to 64gb expansion thanks to a micro SD cad slot and it has HDMI out.
Front & rear (2 & 5mp) cameras too - you just need to peel the protective layer off the rear camera & suddenly it's not the disappointment it might at 1st seem.
Brilliant little device and for a lot less (I paid �120).

Slaterdroid has any updates needed & JB is due soon.

This tablet also has MicroSD and HDMI ports, as well as (the kicker) microUSB 2.0. You can attach an external HD to this puppy.

Edit: Regarding "no pure Google", that may be so, but Acer is also *NOT* a telco, either. I doubt you're going to find the same bloatware and update issues you would find on AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, et al.
