Acer unveils $800 Windows 8 tablet
Acer has announced their first Windows 8 tablet, the Iconia W700.

The device will retail for $799 just like Asus and Lenovo's Windows 8 tablets, and launch on the 26th, as well.

Owners will get a tablet with a large 11.6-inch, 1,920 x 1,080, IPS display and the tablet will come bundled with a Bluetooth keyboard, protective case, Micro HDMI-to-VGA cable and a docking cradle, making it an ideal productivity device.

The base $799 model will come with an Intel Ivy Bridge Core i3, have 64GB SSD storage and dual cameras 5MP/2MP.

Heh. Yeah, 1080p at that screen size = TINY icons and text, unless you enlarge both. Funny how few people know how to do that ^^' ...

$800 tablet? I'm not so sure I'm ready to flop down that kind of coinage for a tablet at all. You could just about get a gaming laptop for that kind of money.

I just don't feel the love here.

Gaming Laptop is a bit of an oxymoron, but I know what you mean.

After all the updates, Win 8 is going to eat up 1/3 of that 65 gigs of storage. So now you're talking about a $800 computer with 40 gigs of usable storage.
