'Halo 4' makes $220 million on first day
Microsoft has boasted today over their franchise game's first day stats.

The new 'Halo 4' brought in $220 million in just 24 hours, with the software giant calling it the "biggest entertainment launch of the year."

Altogether, the company says it expects first week sales to top $300 million.

With the new revenue, lifetime sales of the franchise have now reached $3.38 billion. Halo 4 is the first game to not be created by Bungie, but it appears the fans are okay with the new developer, as well.

"We're thrilled that 'Halo 4' has emerged as the biggest U.S. entertainment launch of the year," said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios. "Thanks to the millions of fans worldwide who helped make this another record-breaking launch for the 'Halo' franchise, 'Halo 4' is kicking off a strong holiday season and has become the must-have blockbuster experience of the year."

What a coincidence. This article comes out only hours before the actual biggest launch of the year. It will be interesting to see how much Black Ops 2 makes in the first day.

Well, I want to know what you're talking about. You could have just pm'd him and kept it between the two of you, but you chose to post your comment for everyone to see. The fact that he's playing it off like he has no idea about what you're talking about is more reason to call him out.

I double dog dare you 😜.

Commenting on something that you haven't played; what'd be the best way to describe h4,it's halo jim but not as we know it ! my main gripe with h4 is not having jet packs on all levels apart from what appears to be a short story as well,i swear h1 & h2 took far longer on normal mode

Agreed. I was really excited to start playing the campaign. I didn't want to play more than a half our to 45 minutes a day so I wouldn't finish it right away. 4 days in, all of a sudden the game was over. I hadn't read anything about Halo 4 purposely so that I would enjoy it more and avoid spoilers. The only thing I heard a while back was that the game would have 2 discs. So my first thought when it ended was I still have another disc. Come to find out that the second disc is just an install disc for on-line access.

The controls and the feel of the game were different than the Bungie games, but I thought I would give it a chance. I also felt that the enemy AI was cheap (on hardest setting). Overall, I guess I was expecting too much. Well, at least I can continue the campaign on-line. I haven't started them yet, but I have Black Ops 2 to keep me busy until then. I'll probably take my time with them so I don't finish too quickly.
