AT&T expands LTE to six new markets
AT&T has announced the expansion of its LTE network to six new markets, including three in Puerto Rico.

With the new expansion, the service is now available to 150 million consumers, says the carrier.

The new markets are Albuquerque, N.M., Reading, Penn., Salt Lake City, Utah, Guayama, San German-Cabo Rojo, and Yauco in Puero Rico.

AT&T's high-speed mobile network is now available in 109 markets. Rival Verizon has 440 LTE markets, reaching 250 million consumers.

The carrier says it plans to blanket the U.S. by the end of 2013 while Verizon will likely do so two quarters earlier.

It truly baffles me that ATT commercials blatantly state "more markets" (or something similar) than Verizon when clearly they don't have any leg up on Verizon..........except overall faster speeds and less of the arrogance and shady practices that Verizon engages in.

I've always thought the same but notice in ATT commercials they say "Largest 4G Network or More people covered in 4G" Note that they never say "LTE". ATT does have the largest 4G newtork bc they include their HSPA network to be 4G. So if its covered in LTE or HSPA its still considered 4G by Att. We all know that Verizon LTE is faster than HSPA. So Verizon has the largest 4G LTE network and during 2013 Verizon will blanket their entire coverage area with 4G LTE including rural areas. Att only has LTE in the bigger cities and HSPA in rural areas. I live in a rural area so its Verizon for me. I have 4G LTE in my small city and 3G in the woods while fishing or hunting. You might have EDGE or no signal period with ATT in rural areas.
