comScore: Global Android share falls since December
ComScore has released their latest U.S. smartphone share data for the period ended March 31st.

Compared to the start of the new year, Google fell 1.4 percentage points, to 52 percent global share, as Apple jumped 2.7 percentage points to 39 percent.

BlackBerry fell significantly from 6.4 percent to 5.2 percent while Microsoft remained relatively flat, gaining 0.1 percent share to 3 percent.

On an individual company basis, Apple controlled 39 percent share, besting Samsung at 21.7 percent. HTC, Motorola and LG rounded out the top five, unsurprisingly.

ComScore collects data from installed user bases and not from handset sales.
