Xbox One, PS4 games to cost up to $60
Microsoft has confirmed that its first-party titles for the upcoming Xbox One will cost $59.99, just as they do on the Xbox 360.

Speaking bluntly, a company representative says "I can confirm that Microsoft Studios games on Xbox One will be $59.99 (MSRP)."

Sony America president Jack Tretton made a similar announcement for his company earlier this year, saying "We're going to welcome free-to-play models, games from $.99 up to those $60 games."

Amazon, Gamestop and other major retailers have been pricing pre-order games at the $59.99 price point.

The difference being that PlayStation games will actually have some trade in or resale value. Anybody that supports Microsofts restrictive DRM, or a game company that attempts to utilize restrictive DRM deserves what they get.

The publishers will rise them to 68, or 69.98 in two years time, mark my words.

I'll stick my foot up your ass.

That really is going to depend on the economy: people can't afford to shell out $60 a game every time they make a AAA title. Unemployment globally is still high in many countries including US, so it's really going to be harder to push that $60 tag without some added value incentives attached.

...And as usual we'll be priced gouged in Australia by both companies with a 50% price hike even tho our dollar is on parity with the US.

    :/

Nobody seems to get it. Complete games cost over a hundred dollars. I would love to believe that the extra dlc gets developed after the game, but with day one dlc, its evident that games are being skimped, chopped up, and sold for more money right after they are released. Im really starting to get annoyed at xbox dashboard advertising too. Come on, state farm insurance ads when im browsing through my xbox? Surprising that we pay for xbox live too. Man microsoft really has the market for greed. This current gen might be my last gaming gen. The industry is just gone. Its all about greed now. And with the xbox1.... Dont get me started.
