Canonical adds new pledge tiers for Ubuntu Edge smartphone

Canonical adds new pledge tiers for Ubuntu Edge smartphone
Earlier this week we reported that Canonical had launched their Ubuntu Edge smartphone via the crowdfunding site Indiegogo.

The first 5000 pledgers were able to get the device for an intro price of $600, unlocked, along with a shoutout on Canonical's founders page. After that, you had to purchase the phone for $830, but the Linux company seems to have a roadblock at that price and have opened up new pledge tiers.

1250 new buyers can purchase the phone for $675, the next 1250 can get it for $725 and the next 1250 can get it for $775. After that, the next 4500 get the device for $780. Earlier today the $625 tier sold out and the $600 tier sold out on day one.

So far, the company has raised $5.4 million of its $32 million campaign.
