Barnes & Noble drops price of Simple Touch with Glow
Barnes & Noble has dumped the price of its front-lit e-reader to $99, marking the first time such a reader has dipped under that price point.

By comparison, Amazon's Kindle Paperwhite still sells for $119 (with ads) and the Kobo Glo starts at $129.99.

Most likely, the company is clearing out excess inventory to unveil a second-generation model this fall.

Barnes & Noble recently announced they would be discontinuing their own tablets, instead licensing the Nook operating system, while continuing to manufacture e-readers.
