Considering they sold over 16 million copies in the first three days, they might be very screwed on this. Good thing for rockstar that we live in an automatic update generation; they could simply prevent his tracks from playing with the next update. Plus, by the time they get around to "destroying" all unsold copies, the next pressing without his tracks will be the only thing on the shelf anyway. Don't worry Daz...I'm sure Rockstar will do all they can to prevent you from getting any new fans because of their game.

i totally agree with him if i distributed a copyrighted video without the copyright owners permission i could be fined up to $250000, but rockstar uses his music without his permission offers him a few grand and thinks they have done nothing wrong.

But yeah they should take it off or pay more, I was wondering how much each artist got but they are also giving them more exposure. I was surprised when they only had about 4 songs one station, but it makes sense because most people listen to their own music anyway.

Video Games are more popular that Movies and the Music just fall way behind: Internet Kill the Music TV Star.
Now on days people are "So Happy" with their low quality MP3's.
On the other hand: Rap is the bottom of the barrel on music; that very few people care about it.

While I'm an inveterate pirate, I have to say your argument is deeply flawed, Mrguss. No one should feel somehow "thankful" for someone illegally copying their work, especially if that very use had been denied by them. You can call just any exposure a "promo", by your metric, no matter how big a ripoff it is.
Nor is music (or any other form of art, for that matter) particularly doomed by the existence of video games. Plenty of content still sells juuuuust fine, thenkyew.
And last, your impression of rap is yours; again, enough people are making money performing rap/hip hop, that your "very few people" is quite suspect - lol...

To start: Hip-Hop is so diff. from Rap.
GTA5 try to make a deal. All he have to do is just deal the price. Is as simple as buying a Premium Domain Name (since "almost everything" have a price now on days).
Also: Is no like GTA5 try to buy his virginity or else.
Even Crapple pay 12-Cents for each MP3 sold on iTunes to RIAA, MPAA, etc.

I wonder if Rockstar should have a new owner? If the record company demands such high penalties, $250,000 and/or up to 10 years in prison for each offense.... Hmmm 250K * 16Milllion * 2 (he had two tracks stolen). Well that is a lot more then i can count on my hands, this guy should sue for ownership of Rockstar?

He should be pleased that rockstar actually WANTED to use his (c)rap music for the game, it is free promo, and by kicking up a stink about it gets more attention, and he probably will get a nice wedge for bringing it up.
And I agree with other comments, they are all clowns, talking over poor backing tracks, and what makes me lol the most is when u say this to a fan of (c)rap music they all say the exact same thing, "u gotta listen to the words, they tell a story", yea cos that's what I put tunes on for to hear an audio book, lmao

they could just offer him a royalty deal whats the standard like 10 cents a track per use.thats still a few million if they pay him 10cents x 2 x every copy sold.

Because YOU don't like his music, he should be taken advantage of? Really?!
Rockstar used the tracks without permission, and in fact when permission was intentionally, specifically withheld. That's illegal, and they WILL be paying a price for it, as they should. It's that simple. Your snark will have no effect on this fact.
The law doesn't just apply to those YOU approve of; that's part of what makes the US what it is.
