The program loans devices to devs free of charge, but LG does expect you to design proprietary apps. Additionally, if you have non-exclusive apps, you can test actively test it on your G2.

The LG Device Loaner Program is designed to make it easier for developers to test and debug their apps on LG smartphones or tablets. Registered developers in the US and Canada will be able to borrow an LG device for a 30-day period.
