The company is reportedly finalizing negotiations to sell the products, and leave them alive for the future. It was previously reported that Microsoft could be a willing acquirer, but there was no comment from the Redmond giant.
Winamp and Shoutcast came under the AOL umbrella in 1999 when AOL purchased parent company Nullsoft.
A visit to Winamp.com today proves the software is still available and the online platform is still up and running, as well.
TechCrunch says sources are extremely confident the deal will be announced soon.
