Most of the phones are nearing two years old, and it must not be viable for the electronics maker to work on getting software updates for the old devices.
End-of-life models include the Xperia arc S, Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia ion, Xperia acro S, Xperia go, Xperia P, Xperia J, Xperia miro, Xperia sola, Xperia tipo and Xperia U.
Many of the phones will remain with Android 4.1.x.
