Xbox Studios developing series based on rapper Nas

Xbox Studios developing series based on rapper Nas
According to sources, Xbox Studios, in their effort to bring original programming to the Xbox consoles, are developing a series based on the early career of rapper Nas.

The half-hour series will revolve around Nas' life and career in the 90s, before he became a star with the release of "Illmatic."

Deadline says the show is "set in the 1990s in Long Island City's Queensbridge housing complex, where Nas grew up, and takes a look at music, family and the levinetrials and tribulations of the rap game."

Xbox Studios has been actively buying scripted programming, and developing their own shows, before a major launch of content via the Xbox console and other Microsoft products.

M$ is trying waaaay to hard to be all things to all people. Having both a xbox 360 and a PS3, I must say multimedia was easier on PS3, without any subscription or nonsense associated with it.

Now PS4 and xbox one is different, and I know that. But, it seems M$ is trying to make games secondary to everything else. (Captain obvious here.....) Must be M$ new strategy in business life, to get away from core business and invest in new unproven ones.

I was thinking the exact same thing when they first shown Xbox ONE and how gaming is taking a "backseat" and everything else is priority.

Who cares about all that fluff, we care about gaming. If I want to call someone on Skype I will use my smartphone, if I want to watch sports I will flip the channel... who cares about watching sports while playing a video game.... oh wow it feels so real playing a football game while watching live football game.

    Exactly!

And that's the same view many others have spoken across the web.

I can understand from a business sense MS wanting to have an "all in one" entertainment console, but they can't do it at the cost of losing focus on what got them there to start with; gaming.

Hmmmph, regardless of what the gaming purists think (and I'm one of them!) it's only a matter of time before a HDMI passthrough ends up on future PS4 models... effectively pulling the last strands of rug from under MS' feet.

@TalkToFrank He might as well be called "Meh"... I don't recall him.

Last track i heard features fur elise as a backing track with him and kids singing over it.

custom built gaming pc from early 2010,ps2 with 15 games all original,ps3 500gbs with 5 games all original, yamaha amp and 5.1channel surround sound speakers,46inch sony lcd smart tv.
