The idea of using these as a wireless HDMI option to stream video to a TV is very cool, and in a few instances on YouTube I was actually able to get it to work. It was really cool, and the audio was like magic cuz it could provide what someone would say about 30 seconds before their lips even moved, which was so not annoying, I think people like to know whats coming. I tried casting a video to it from my laptop so as to compare the quality, as my TV and Laptop both have the same screen resolution. I gotta hand it to those Google engineers and their retro styling, these wizards have found a way taking your pristine HD videos and somehow, through magic again no doubt, they give it back to you in a more film-like look.....a really grainy film. I certainly appreciate their attempt to go old school there, and the way it kept stopping and trying to buffer, and then forgot what it was doing and just froze, that takes me back too, its like when you first got a dial up modem and you were almost done downloading a pam anderson booby pic when gosh darn it, your call waiting kicked you right off of AOL, so you answer the phone all pissed off and say "Goddamn edited by ddp Google, what the edited by ddp were you thinking when you decided yeah, I think people will like this if we tell them it's the newest tech out, even though it's actually made with some old obsolete chips that are abundantly available since everyone else already moved on to the next gen chips. And why not, it edited by ddp worked for Apple".

yeah I have one. Great for Netflix and Amazon. All I use it for.
Like my Roku 3 on the other set MUCH better!

The Roku stick is the experience that I'm looking for, I just wish I had a time machine to go back and slap myself for buying this dumb item in the first place.

Roku isn't crap, but I'd rather have one of the new HTPC-on-a-stick dongles anyway. They come in Linux and Android flavors, most run XBMC just fine (or other media software), and stream just fine. It's also not difficult to get Netflix, HBOtoGo, Hulu, Youtube, and all the rest working. As a side benefit, you have full control of the apps available, with no bloat.

Aussies will buy this in droves... even though it wont run most of it's apps (like Netflix etc.) <sigh>

Trust me you just saved yourself 30 bucks, go for the roku stick instead. You cant even stream netflix without having a phone or laptop to use with chromeapp installed.
