The device is on sale in Europe for £429 unlocked, £40 cheaper than the 16 GB model. The iPad 4 is also back, selling for $399 in the U.S. for the Wi-Fi model, replacing the three-year-old iPad 2 which Apple kept alive following the release of the iPad Air.
Apple turned heads when it brought back the iPad 2 as the "low-end" iPad option last year, given that it has an ancient A5 processor and 512MB RAM. The iPad 4 has a Retina Display, an A6X chip and 1GB RAM.
Both the devices are available in-store and online.
