The Pirate Bay founder Peter Sunde arrested in Sweden

The Pirate Bay founder Peter Sunde arrested in Sweden
According to Swedish source Expressen, Pirate Bay co-founder Peter Sunde has been arrested in Sweden, following a police raid at a farm in the city of Skåne Tonganoxie.

Sunde had been wanted by Interpol since 2012 over copyright infringement violations.

The arrest leaves founder Fredrik Neij as the only fugitive of the group, as Gottfrid Swartholm Warg was arrested in 2009 after evading authorities on hacking charges.

Sunde will likely have to serve his eight month sentence for copyright crimes related to operating The Pirate Bay, and will also face stiff fines.

So what actual harm was ever done?
The entertainment industry is possibly the 2nd most profitable entity on the planet (after oil/energy).

    Sheer persecution, shame on them.

Imagine a school gets taken hostage by some gangsters and they shoot your son before being rounded up by Police. Would you say "What actual harm was done? the other hundreds of kids are fine!"

    :/

Come on! Seriously? You can not compare murdering children to picking the pockets of the entertainment industry.
Theft is not murder by any degree.
While I neither condone nor condemn someone before they have had their day in court, I would not expect a death penalty or life in prison term for this alleged crime.

think a better scenario would be a bunch of gangsters run in the school photocopy a bunch of text books and leave then send copies of them text books to other people.
the original textbooks are still there,The school can charge new students large fees to buy the textbooks they need,no one is harmed and the school is still profitable.

Realistically the entertainment industry should have to file a civil lawsuit and prove beyond reasonable doubt they actually lost money due to this guy.
A dead kid is easy to prove you have a body, unless the student wasn't enrolled at the school and no one had any photographic evidence or any record of the students existance.
like the entertainment industry can not lose money they didn't have.

Gangsters came into our neighbourhood, handed-out the movies for free, and now we're all hooked on lunchboxes and t-shirts.

Fourth. You forgot to put the banksters first, and governments second.

Quite....and mere copying alone (I'm not talking about people who copy & sell fake goods) is not theft either.

    Haha.

But I am disappointed by this... I notice it has had no effect on TPB at all.
