Watch out Pokemon Go cheaters, you could be banned permanently

Developer Niantic has warned gamers that they could be permanently banned from Pokemon Go if they go about violating the game's terms of service.

For the most part, those that are getting banned have used GPS spoofing or bots/automation to help themselves in the game, and Niantic isn't having it anymore.



The message gamers have been receiving:

Your account was permanently terminated for violations of the Pokémon GO Terms of Service. This includes, but is not limited to: falsifying your location, using emulators, modified or unofficial software and/or accessing Pokémon GO clients or backends in an unauthorized manner including through the use of third party software.

Our goal is to provide a fair, fun and legitimate game experience for everyone. We will continue to work with all of you to improve the quality of the gameplay, including ongoing optimization and fine tuning of our anti-cheat system.

  good bye then pokemon go because if your stupid game actually worked liked it was suppose to and worked from wifi and tablets and not rigged to smart phones and the stupid radar worked they wouldn't have to cheat and you can't tell there cheating without violating there rights so now i guess pokemon go is spyware huh

  Um, whut? Users are tracked by the very nature of the game. Sorry, but they're violating no one's rights; those rights have already been voluntarily given up to play the game in the 1st place. That's what the TOS document is for, after all.
  
  It sounds to me like you possibly are one of the cheaters Niantic is referring to =x. If not, them's a lotta sour grapes over cheaters getting the hammer.

  I am not a cheater but when the software doesn't work right when the radar doesn't correctly track pokemon or when you try to capture pokemon and they escape because of the bugs in the software there is no choice but to cheat.
  
  And if nintendo is able to actually detect you are cheating it means they have your permission to access all of your contacts and personal passwords and data on your phone which is a violation of your rights software license agreement or not we do have something here is the u.s called privacy act of 1996 which states a company cannot see what you are doing on a device without a search or seizer warrant and nintendo basically saying they can search your phone for cheats is bull shit because that violates freedom of speech and privacy acts so let them try first time they ban the wrong device i hope they like the lawsuit afterwards

  b) Better read that TOS. In fact, yes, by installing and playing the game, you ARE agreeing to some pretty intense data mining, including every single piece of data on your phone, according to the permissions it requires, along with the de rigeur, super-restrictive arbitration clause that almost no one bothers to opt out of in the 30 days from first playing the game that is allotted.   Next time, PAY ATTENTION to the permissions an app requires and any applicable TOS. Sorry, you currently have no leg to stand on.

  AD seems to have reduced their article writing and now I find myself bored with this site 90% of the times in which I visit.
