BSA

BSA stands for Business Software Alliance. The BSA is a trade group, originally established in 1988, that represents software companies around the world in the fight against copyright infringement and software piracy. It's calculations of global losses of revenue for software companies are cited literally on thousands of publications and Internet websites when the issue of global piracy arises.

It employs more than 100 lawyers and investigators and through tips it receives through anti-piracy hotlines or on its website, it prosecutes thousands of cases per year. The BSA is best known for its work policing the corporate use of software and has often caught and fined companies that were using pirated software for their business.
