A measurement of digital information storage or transmission, and a multiple of the unit "byte" and using the International System of Units prefix.
Kilobyte are 2^10, which is equal to 1,024 bytes when in relation to computer memory like RAM.
The KB are also 10^3, or 1,000 bytes when in relation to storage solutions like flash drives or hard drives.
KB are one of the smaller measures of byte multiples, and is mostly seen in word processing files or other tiny documents.
Very similar to Kibibytes, which use a more exact prefix established by the International Electrotechnical Commission.
