Nagravision Aladin is a Conditional Access System developed by a company called Nagravision, part of the Kudelski Group. Often confused with Nagravision Cardmagedon (under an umbrella title of Nagravision 2), Nagravision Aladin is used to protect against TV piracy. The system was publicly comrpomized in 2005 but regained its security temporarily by making changes to the Nagravision encryption algorithm, software updates and the replacement of older cards.
Nevertheless, hacks of the system are still widespread with continued software updates for free-to-air receivers and keys being made available publicly.
