Viaccess 3 is the name given to a Viaccess system developed by France Telecom subsidiary, Viaccess. Viaccess 3 actually refers to the Viaccess PC2.6 system. The Viaccess PC2.6 system replaced Viaccess PC2.5 even though the system was never publicly hacked like Viaccess PC2.3 and Viaccess PC2.4. Viaccess PC2.6 was never hacked by satellite pirates either but still was replaced by Viaccess PC3.0.
