Recording equipment that comply with this standard can produce color variations very close to what human eyes can recognize (the standard supports the full range of colors that can be seen by the human eye). Televisions that comply with the standard will be able to re-produce the images in almost the same quality as when it was recorded.
The High-definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) added support for the xvYCC color space in the HDMI 1.3 specification. xvYCC is referred to as x.v.Color also. The color space will greatly improve the quality of even High Definition video material.
