Microsoft and HD DVD team up with "Animatrix"

Microsoft and HD DVD team up with Animatrix
Microsoft has announced that they will be giving a special bonus to all Xbox Live users who purchase the upcoming Matrix Trilogy on HD DVD. Microsoft, who is an exclusive supporter of HD DVD, is using the new releases as a good opportunity to promote both its Xbox 360 and the format its backs.

Inside every package of the Matrix trilogy there will be "tokens" that will allow users to download the entire Animatrix series from XBL for free.

XBL will also be offering HD trailers and favorite scenes from the movies for free between May 15th and the 25th.

The Complete Matrix Trilogy available for $99.99 MSRP this Tuesday.

Yet another reason to stick with DVD (in this case, The Ultimate Matrix Collection). Not everyone has an Xbox 360.

...and WHY couldn't the Animatrix be included in this "Complete" pack?

    Complete? Yeah, right.

It's like the Myst pack that came out so long ago that said "PC and Mac", but the mac version was a mail-in certificate that expired a year before we bought it. WTF?

Hidef digest in their review of the Ultimate Matrix set said that the Animatrix is standard DVD definition therein ..not HD!

Did you not read the original article? Quote:Microsoft has announced that they will be giving a special bonus to all Xbox Live users who purchase the upcoming Matrix TrilogyQuote:Inside every package of the Matrix trilogy there will be "tokens" that will allow users to download the entire Animatrix series from XBL for free. So you need XBOX LIVE to even get the SD Animatrix series "free" So what the hell happens for people who arent using a 360 as their HD-DVD player?

"Free", is a funny word I am afraid you still have to have a "ring of death" XBOX360 and hd addon which is not FREE. I do have them, besides the point, it is my third one, the first two malfunctioned and craped out on me.$400.00 BOAT ANCHORS.

I think I paid around $45 - $55 for the "complete" Matrix collection on DVD at Wal Mart or Circuit City. Most movies there are $12 - $16 when you buy them the week they come out.
