2 to 4 week delays on online orders of iPhone

2 to 4 week delays on online orders of iPhone
Simultaneous to its retail store release, the iPhone has been added to Apple's online storefront with the same pricing, $499 for the 4GB model and $599 for the 8GB model.

Customers who are ordering online will have to wait however. Apple has posted an "expected 2-4 week" wait for online orders to arrive. Online users are also only allowed to order two at a time.

Reports surfaced about the iPhone's much hyped launch with customers complaining that many AT&T stores were understocked while Apple stores had more supply than demand. Overall numbers for the first day were not in yet, but rest assured we will post them when they become available.

In a way i love how in Australia we get things later because by the time we get it. It will become a more complete product with less to no glitches.

Yeah this Iphone is nothing to get excited about...check out the cost...and for what, something you can get even cheaper and more reliable. It doesn't even have 3g.

I saw an AT&T store in the city that had a line with people waiting to get their hands on it, but seriously, something like that isn't even worth it.

This, once again, proves how stupid and "guided" people can be. I should have taken pictures of the line at my local mall. One guy, who was featured in a big local newspaper article, said he stood in-line for 48 hours. He even slept right outside the mall doors with an alarm so he could wake up and still be #1 in line.

Not only that but the store also had 2-4 armed security officers waiting both at the doors to go into the store and by the register so things wouldn't get out of hand. Believe it or not the delivery guy was also escorted by cops into an through the store.

    $500 for a low-memory high-cost Pocket PC?

My dad has a Pocket PC thats got a built-in phone, not sure who makes it, but its got about 64MB of internal memory (plus the 16GB in SD and Compact Flash cards it came with) and that thing was only $300 brand-new. Shows what kind of a price hike Apple can put on things because of the iPod's fame.

People who are dissing either hasn't seen them in person or doesnt have the money to get one, I too wasn't so sure if i wanted to spend 600 dollars on a phone, and got it thinking that if i didn't like it ill just pay the 10% restocking fee, boy was i impressed this lil piece of equipment is everything it was hyped to be, real responsive, real fast, and the screen is super scratch resistant! also everyone who has seen it has even said that its worth the 600 dollars, even though they thought it wasn't prior to it coming out. If you got the money and need a good cell phone to keep you intertained for 2 years this is the one for you.

I got more then enough $$$ i have played with it at the store & im still not ever going to buy one. First of all the price is expensive for the same price you can get a better phone with more then enough memory for your songs and such. People are pretty stupid in all the hype just cuz it looks pretty they want the new kid on the block. What your paying for is bloated apple. Typical phone, touch screen wow who cares,8GB add $400 to the cost call it the best phone ever, have people sleep outside for days, reminds me how the PS3 was & look at that its sales are poor. Apple needs to lower it down to under 300 then i might consider it & have a sim card that can be removed for other providers. I can't wait for the bugs on this phone to start to appear :)

Just wait fellas, the RAZR was once a $500 phone too... the iPhone will become well adopted and the price will drop just like phones before it.

it was a joke... I know I put a minus sign, that was a part of the joke... the minus sign indicates you don't want any result that includes the word "iPhone"... Someone needs Google 101.

I love how all of the hype around this phone has seemed to completely disappear since its release.

And yes, this too will be the next RAZR. Looks nice, but really isn't worth the price in comparison to other models.
