Samsung introduces thinnest full HD LCD TV

Samsung introduces thinnest full HD LCD TV
At the FPD International 2007 show in Japan this week, Samsung has introduced a new 40-inch diagonal Full HD LCD TV panel that is an extremely thin, measuring in at 10mm thick.

The new thin-film-transistor (TFT) LCD is the thinnest profile ever for a full-size HDTV. 10mm is the typical thickness of 20-inch LCD computer monitors, which are generally significantly thinner than regular HDTV sets.

According to Dailytech, "The screen is backlit using LEDs and can reproduce 92% of the NTSC standard for color saturation. Power consumption is reported to be 90 watts or less."

Just under a half inch for those metricly challenged (about 0.4")

Pretty dang thin and pretty sweet-- the bezel's probably wider than the screen is thick from looking at the pic.

maybe its aimed at mounting on the wall, like a picture :P but yea that thing would probably fall down quite easily, the base doesn't even look strong enough to support it

bikini models are more fit to model LCD tv's. Fully clothed ones should be reserved to salad spinners on QVC

This is the PANEL. It is not the TV. You have to add the chasis, power supply, and electronics. Let's see how thick it gets when it's finished.
