VLC media player 0.9.2 released

VLC media player 0.9.2 released
After over 100,000,000 downloads of version 0.8.6, VideoLAN has updated their excellent media player software to version 0.9.2, with the codename Grishenko.

The new updated software brings a new interface for Windows, Linux and Unix as well as new inputs, more codec support and new on the fly audio and video filters.

I cannot do all the updates justice in a paragraph or so, so I have embedded the video showing the updates from the team behind the software.

If you want to download this excellent update, we have it here at AfterDawn: VLC media player 0.9.2

Hopefully eventually they can incorporate some kind of plugin that will support Xbox 360 streaming. That way I won't have to use Windows Media Player to do it.

I just installed it and my first thought is that the interface got a bloated overload.

While I am sure I will get used to it, I like the 'clean' look of versions older than 0.9.2, this one looks like it takes up 2x more screen real estate than the older versions.

How does this software compare to using Media Player Classic with the FFDShow codec pack?

    Why is the best player?
    What makes it so special?

Because it's self-efficient, doesnt require any codecs!!
Playes almost nay format I've come across and never vrings, gives errors and has more features in-built than any other player!
But I prefer Media Player Classic...

I just downloaded this first time, compared it with other players using S-Video out onto a Mitsubishi Black Diamond CRT from 2 different computers. By far the best playback given as everything looks real and natural, no differnce between the two different graphics cards.
