Apple reports giant iPhone sales

Apple reports giant iPhone sales
According to Apple's Q2 filing, the company sold an extraordinary 5.2 million iPhones during the quarter, helping the company to one of its strongest quarters in history.

The number reflected a 626 percent year-on-year growth for iPhone sales, and the company had an overall net profit of $1.23 billion USD.

The giant sales were attributed to strong sales for the iPhone 3GS and a price reduction on the regular iPhone 3G.

Additionally, the company claimed record Mac sales and a decrease in iPod sales.

Added CEO Steve Jobs: "We're making our most innovative products ever and our customers are responding."

I myself will never buy another Iphone. The device itself works alright, "most" of the time. The Itunes software, to me is the weak point. If you want software running on your computer constantly dialing out to the internet, and using memory needlessly, maybe itunes is for you. You can disable it easily enough through msconfig, but everytime you want to update apps, or put music on it, you have to re-enable the crappy software for it to work. Its just a little too big brother for me.
Ever since the firmware 3.0 upgrade, it takes up to a minute for a call to connect, I will probably have to roll it back or take it in to find out whats wrong. I used to think microsoft was bad about drm, but apple definitely has them beat. I won't say never, but this is probably the first and last apple product I will buy.

The 80s called and want their computer back.

Perhaps you should not get any smart phone period.

I love my 3Gs and I don't have any problems, it works flawlessly.

You are exactly the kind of ignorant user companies like apple want. You have no idea what the software runnning on your computer is doing and probably don't much care. The next time you type an idiotic statement like that, maybe you should put your brain in gear first. If you read my post, instead of trying to be an apple fan boy you would have read that I said the device works fine most of the time. Its the software I have a big problem with.

I re-read the post and I still read that you are DIALING to connect.

It's true, the 80s did call and want their stuff back.

Dialing or phoning home is an expression of software connecting to the internet "WITHOUT" your knowledge. Its true, you are as ignorant as I thought. It has nothing to do with an old dial up modem connection.
