Demonoid is back, glitchy

Demonoid is back, glitchy
After over a year of being down, the popular semi-private torrent tracker Demonoid is back, re-opening the site to the public.

Says the homepage:

Hello!
We are currently testing the newly written code.
More downtime is hopefully not necessary, but might
be a possibility. Welcome back, we missed you!

The site seems to have much of its content intact
but users to the site may notice some bugs since the
site is apparently still being worked on.

The site is indeed very glitchy still, but the word that the site is back online should be a welcome relief to torrent users who recently saw the end of Mininova.

Still some DNS problems here in the Nederlands but reachable through proxy. Lets hope the site will be in full swing after the initial onslaught of page request's.

It hasn't been a full year since they have been down? I was using it earlier this year. Unless it was only previous members that could use the service.

But anyway it's nice to have a decent tracker back. Get some quality back.

Yeah, my "uploaded" number was over 3TB...now it is just 667GB.

...Yet my "Downloaded" number was less than 1.1TB...and it is now 436GB.

My ratio is skrewd...but at least I am still over 1:1.

I though they had rolled over like TPB but they are both back up for the long haul. I really did think torrents were on their way out when old mini hit the dust. I am sure it is no coincidence that thy came up at about the same time. They have the big D down a year but it was only a few months.

I keep getting kicked off Demonoid by my AVG anti-virus showing that it links to a site antivi-rus.net.

    Anybody else get this?

    Help much appreciated.....

No but maybe your scanner was paid off to show a false positive or maybe your scanner is smarter than mine. I think I got a real nasty virus from isohunt siter when I clicked on something by mistake.

Have not had any issues like that...but it does have popups (that i never see thanks to my blocker)...so AVG might be seeing one of them. Get a good virus scanner and popup blocker and you should be fine.
