Terrorists love Facebook

Terrorists love Facebook
Okay, while the headline may be a bit sensationalist, according to the new 2010 Digital Hate Report, terrorists and racists are increasingly turning to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to lure children.

The report is released annually by the Simon Wiesenthal Center for Tolerance, and it "aims to assist law enforcement, public officials, educators, parents and the news media to better grasp the scope of hate."

2010DHR is based on 11,500 "problematic" sites, forums, Twitter posts and social networks and the report has found that "hate-filled" language is increasing in social networks, as well as offensive and "disturbing" video footage.

More disturbing, was the increase in "how-to" posts for suicide terrorists, including bomb making and laser technology. Terrorists are using social networks to brainwash young children into "hate-filled Islamic fundamentalist zombies," some as young as six years old.

Six year olds on facebook? I barely knew how to read and write when I was that age.

Kinda ironic that the links to Facebook and Twitter are right below this article.

Plus, there were no search engines. Just think of the incentive to read that is provided by the modern internet!

300 baud, used phone line, paid for call time plus had to pay to use Microtext666, if anyone remembers that. Also used keylink, and mousetext. Used a commodore 64, it was that or an more expensive trash 80. Use Facebook, and twitter, been using some form of internet for 27 years. Now, the topic. Not hard to believe, been a lot of sudden crowds in some places after a vehicle accident or a police raid, all suddenly turn up, a lot of time it is sent to friends through Facebook, or Twitter or cellphone text messages. Some of the bombings have been triggered by cell phones. So story has quite a lot of credibility.

It cracks me up to the point of annoyance when contrasted with the bias of everyone else like CBS, NBC, ABC, etc. When you hear about the gunman that killed x people, you don't hear about how the gun wasn't legally purchased. When you hear about the SUV that started x wreck, you don't hear about the driver talking on the phone, eating a hamburger and shaving. Everyone has bias. /end rant

Remember when Facebook was only for college students? Yeah, that was a good time. No FarmVille, Mafia Wars, parents, older co-workers and so on. Good times. Good times indeed.

Good times indeed. Yes, it was a good time, but the problem here with Farmville or mafia wars or any applications, is not the users' fault, it's because facebook wanted more and more users. Because everything it's a business and people try to do anything just to have success.
And how many users were in those good times and how many users are now?
I know persons who joined facebook just for playing farmville, I know that this is a stupid thing but that's the fact.

Pfft, another misleading concept. Why in BLOODY HELL is the word Islamic there? What is this, some sort of fantasy that connects religion with terrorism? C'mon people, terrorism does not equate to Islam. Geez.. >___> (and btw, to those who might possibly flame me, I'm Roman Catholic)

As for the main topic, of course they'd do that. The problem lies within the company and how they weed out these things..which is hard considering they're up against the internet. So meh~ Sort of expected.

Islam and terrorism are commonly linked because the infamous modern day terrorists mostly come from a radical sect of Islam. These are viewed as the whole, hence the link.
