Microsoft to drop Kinect price from $150 to $120?
Earlier this month, Microsoft officially launched the Kinect motion control system for the Xbox 360 but the company has still refused to give a concrete price on the system.

Retailers like Amazon, Gamestop and Wal-Mart all have the system up for pre-order at $150, with the warning that the price is not yet official and is subject to change.

The system seemingly got more official pricing when the Microsoft Store put the system up for sale at $150 also.

Stephen Toulouse, Director of Policy Enforcement for Xbox LIVE, made it clear, however, that the pricing was still not live: "Guys I have nothing to do with Kinect Pricing. All prices now *no matter what the retail source* are placeholders. We've not announced."

Xbox Evolved is posting the latest rumor, this week, citing a Microsoft representative who has said the Kinect will actually sell for $120 USD.

Reads the site: "A Microsoft representative told the employees of a Texas Gamestop that Kinect would be $119."

There is no evidence of the speculation being true, but a $120 price point would certainly bring more on-the-fence consumers into the mix.

the kinect will never work as advertised, the movie industry spends millions on motion capture just as the game industry does, ever wonder why the actors are wearing black suits cover in ping pong balls for the computer to track their movements? how could microsoft possibly release a piece of equipment that can do the same and sell it for $150.

thats not to say it wont track movements but its never gonna track them with enough detail to play anything more than a basic pong type game.

i would love to see it work, hell if it does i may just have to buy a xbox but i doubt it.

and yes i have a ps3 but no im not a fanboy

Even if it did work perfectly, would that change anything? The Sony Move isn't a great system, but at least they could make a realistic ping pong game, by means of camera, force feedback controller, and 3D glasses. They could even make a decent sword fighting game if they tried...but if it does not feel like whatever you are meant to be controlling, then you might as well be using a gamepad.

So the sony move might have about 5-10 decent games that are fun to play once in a while, plus the workout games; while the Microsoft Kin will only have the workout games and a few games that play better with a controller.
