Actor booed for cutting iPhone 4 line

Actor booed for cutting iPhone 4 line
Jason Bateman, the popular actor, was booed unmercifully on iPhone 4 launch day, after he was escorted inside by Apple employees, effectively cutting over 2000 people who were waiting in line.

USWeekly says a line of 2000 would-be iPhone owners were waiting in line at a Los Angeles Apple store when the actor arrived.

After waiting just ten minutes, he was pulled from the line and escorted inside by Apple employees.

"The crowd freaked and booed, and he put his head down," said one spectator. "Everyone literally started booing and hissing!" said a second witness.

The iPhone 4 has a 1GHz A4 processor, a 3.5-inch multi-touch screen, a 5MP camera, a smaller MP front-facing camera for video conferencing, a micro-SIM tray, large 960x640 resolution, and 720p video recording capabilities.

Additionally, the phone has 802.11n wireless networking and quad-band HSPDPA/HSUPA networking.

Apple is expected to have sold over 1.2 million devices during its first 72 hours of availability.

just shows how intelligent iphone users really are. Who cares if some semi famous guy gets phone ahead of some nobodies?.... and the line of 2000 wtf. I wouldn't have stayed in that line if it was 1/4 of that. Seriously didn't anyone start to wonder that they could come back after few days and do something else than stand in the line?

Gees as much as AD hypes the specs, I feel like I am watching and apple commercial. I think we all know the specs already, so why not leave it out? Unless your being paid by Apple.

now if he was a good actor, maybe. But he's not. He's okay, though I do have to say he's been doing better stuff lately then anytime in his acting career.

If he was ashamed of being escorted past the other waiting, he should of just manned up and stayed. Or at least said. "ya, if any of you got a chance to skip the line, you'd be doing it also."

    He failed.

I'd be pissed if I was waiting in line for hours only to have some asshole get swept up to the front. I remember hearing Greg Miller from IGN talking about how he nearly punched out a guy who he thought was gonna try to get a PS2 before him after he camped out at a store.

Oh no. One person out of 2000 is getting moved to the front. What are we gonna do? I'll never get those seconds of my life back. =/

However, if a customer won't get an iPhone that day because of it. Well, that's a different story entirely and the boos are justified I would think.

Bateman didn't ask to cut. He was waiting in line and got swarmed by papparazzi. He couldn't get away from them without losing his place in line so the employeees pulled him out of line to get him away from the scumbag media vultures. It wasn't his idea, it was employees taking care of a customer with an unusual circumstance.

Yeah I can't see waiting in line for anything...maybe tickets to a good concert but to blow a bunch of cash on some new Apple crap? NEVER!

Maybe it's just me but if I never see another I4 story it will be too soon...Does anyone really care?

    Just my $0.02,

the issue was that he got treated special because hes a hollywood person well apple did something right put one in his hand and some of his freind's might want one and be seen with it and maybe a photo will be taken (free advertizment) that being said good for apple now for the whining public who where willing to stand for hours and hours for their iphone grow up get a job and hire someone to stand in line for it for you... its a phone .. hey I would have left if I had to wait more then 3 deep for my blackberry and come back days later.. and who in their right mind wants the vers. 1 of anything is asking for issues .. the iphone might have been the king once for a split second but that's gone and better ones are on the way. htc blackberry and a whole lot more are capable of custom apps. and special things but it dosn't run flash apps.. so that means limited browser content , and no hulu.com only itunes flicks... not very good...

Lol, Jason Bateman had to of known that he just couldn't stand in an Apple release line "unnoticed". He is a famous Hollywood actor standing in a line full of people who worship trends and Hollywood trend setters. He knew this and he WANTED to get noticed.

Who waits in line full of 2000 people unless you had a gurantee you were getting a phone every one should have been talking about the shortage of devices.

But these android fanboys are so funny show me an current android devices that displays hulu information, and you want more custom apps similar to the ones that can make your device a botnet and it was only discovered because the company announced it at an event. You find me another device that sold 1.2 million plus in 3 days you can not tell me all 1.2 million people are brain washed and can not think for themselves. By the way when is froyo ever going to be released its been a month since I last saw the app and haven't heard anything else about it although you can root it onto other devices and loose bluetooth access, vibration of the phone and at one point do multiple versions of the same OS for the same device become confusing sounds like Microsoft. We can all come to the conclusion that google will not be making any more phones complete failure

That's why he was number 2038 in line and waited 10mins to be brought to the door.

The phone has been launched weeks ago, what media would be covering the 45th day of buying the iphone4?

The new android phone's do flash so you've got Youtube now and any other flash sites etc on the net.

The x10 sold 700,000 phones in 30 days in Japan and will have sold more than a million x10's before the 74day mark around the world than the iphone.

In terms of the your 1.2 million in 3 days if your talking about android phones then they probably break that amount everyday.

Oh for Christ's sake cry me a river. It's people like this that make me dislike any Apple product even more. "Oh NO, now I have to wait 5 more minutes till I start wasting my life even more". Honestly, standing in a line of 2000, and camping out for days, these people should take a look in the mirror if they're gonna boo someone who decides they have better things to do then wait in line like a zombie. At least he waited in line for a bit like a normal civilian, unlike other celebs who probably would march right in on a red carpet or sneak through the back door.
