Microsoft begins offering annual Zune Pass for $150
Microsoft has begun offering an annual pay option for its Zune Pass, after over a year of only offering a monthly option.

The monthly pass was $15 per month but now subscribers can pay for one year upfront for $150.

Ars asked Microsoft for comment: "It went live yesterday in the US, UK, France, Italy and Spain. The monthly subscription is for $14.99 in the US and €9.99 or £8.99 in European markets. The annual Zune Pass subscription is the same monthly offer, at a discounted price of 12 months of music for the price of 10 months."

The updated Zune Pass subscription option comes right on the heels of the release of Windows Phone 7, which integrates the service.

A Microsoft Zune Pass gives you unlimited access to 10 million songs while you are subscribed whilst also getting to keep 10 songs as free downloads per month.

I love how Canada was left out of the equation. Way to capitalize on a big market...

Seriously I hate to say it again, but they really need Bill Gates to come home, say what you want about him but MS and associated parties has been going downhill since his departure.

Yup ballmar really sucks all he does is throw a lot of money at a project and hope it works ( if not hopes to fix it quickly if it doesn't like he did with windows vis-- i mean 7). Apple released the ipod touch and ballmar thought it would be a smart idea to continue with the plan of release the zune80????? Had a chance to jump ahead of the ipod touch and maybe make the zune hd something to want. But instead of adding an camera blue-tooth and a nice size screen, they thought it was better to make the dumb thing smaller and skinny with hd radio wow.

Yup...And he's doing the exact same crap windows phone 7...They're spending huge piles of money on something that is DOA, outdated since before its launch...I find it amusing that people actually want to buy WP7 phones...

Sadly Micro$oft is spiraling in flames about to crash...Most of their recent projects are crap. Obviously they'll never die because 95% of computers in the world use Window$...and people believe that the colored wavy window means "computer" and the big blue "E" means "Internet"...Most people I know don't know anything else, and they don't care either.
