More pics of the PlayStation Phone emerge
Less than a week after unveiling a prototype of the oft-hyped PlayStation Phone, Engadget has revealed more pictures, and some more slight details.

The device is codenamed "Zeus" and the prototype, at least, is running Android 2.2. The phone is expected to launch with 2.3 Gingerbread.

Furthermore the smartphone will come with an 8GB microSD card, a minimum of 512MB internal storage, and be around 17mm thick, almost exactly the same as the PSPgo.

From the original report:

Engadget says the phone will hit the market "soon," likely in the Q1 2011.

The device will run on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), with a fast 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor, 512MB RAM, 1GB ROM and a 4.1-inch screen.

In the gaming part of the slide-out, the PSP Phone has a multi-touch touchpad, shoulder buttons and a microSD slot.

I wonder what phone company/companies will get this device.

I still have my doubts this is a PSX phone, let alone a PSP phone. If engadget seriously believes this is a first Quarter release, then why is there no word about it yet, why wait let alone be in denial?

It is a first quarter release...that means that they don't want anyone to know about it going into the holiday buying season.

Also, Sony denied this. Every time Sony denies something, it happens within a month. Sony incapable of truth; this makes it easy to invert their lies.

I have a hard time thinking that it is not a PSPhone...Sony Erickson is a terrible company full of boneheads...but even those idiots would not make a slider phone with no keyboard, unless they were counting on something else to push it over the top. Clearly they are not counting on anything that any other phone has, as this phone isn't as good as most current models, let alone the Q1 offerings that are on the way. What else do they have, except for their proprietary handheld?

Although I can't disagree with your point, I can't help but think the controls are meant to let developers create more complex gaming for the Droid market. I could see it being able to port PSX games over, possibly some PSP, but I can't see it being dedicated to that service. Now being the first phone to give droid developers a chance to create a unique gaming experience separate; well that is easier to swallow.

Yea Sony has been known to lie, honestly this day in age, which company doesn't? Still can't help but notice the lack of the PS brand anyone in software or on the device itself tho, and although that could be to keep the company in denial as long as possible, hell it could also mean they have a chance to scrap the project as well. Still time will tell, but I'd really like to see an example of this device actually gaming, be it PS brand or not.
