Michael Phelps gets Kinect swimming game

Michael Phelps gets Kinect swimming game
Michael Phelps, the Olympic gold medal winning swimmer has his own Kinect game coming this summer, giving the world possibly their only chance to ever beat Phelps in a race.

Says Phelps in the press release:

I'm really excited to help bring a one-of-a-kind swimming video game to the market that is reflective of my competitive nature and passion for swimming. This definitely isn't your typical video game; much like my training in the pool, Push the Limit is about improving and mastering every race element -- from controlling your adrenaline on the block to perfectly timing your finish. In my world, it takes a lifetime of dedication to get one-hundredth of a second ahead and I believe Push the Limit offers players a unique journey inside swimming that will challenge themselves as much as their in-game competitors.

The game is set for release in June.

Unless Kinect is significantly more sophisticated than I've read (think Star-Trek-esque holodeck sophisticated) I do not see this working well at all.

Actually, flailing you arms about like a swimmer should be easy for kineckkt to understand...I just don't know how it will simulate getting stoned at a frat party.

it must be really bad if they don't show any in game footage on how to play, i think i agree with the first post is it april fools day early this year. In this case a month late

I wonder if they will do the same deal with Dj hero, if you don't like it aka can't play it 100% refund but then again how much money was wasted on this project. lol

It's such a shame that an Olympian of this caliber is supporting this bullshit of a video game. Swimming for real even in a kiddy pool will always be more fun and productive than whatever this thing offers. I hope its a stupid joke.

Your right is is a little surprising but remember Microsoft has lots of money and well he is now classed as a "sell out" just like everyone else. I think gave development rights sell more then swimming in a pool.

I'm sure he wasn't too expensive; very few companies will have anything to do with him...he may be an great athlete, but he is also a pothead and a gangster wanna-be.
