Microsoft Kinect sales top 10 million

Microsoft Kinect sales top 10 million
Microsoft has announced today that Kinect motion control system sales have topped 10 million since release in early November of last year.

Sales of the sensor also led to a bump in games sales, says the company, with over 10 million Kinect games sold so far, as well, not including the ones bundled with the system.

The software giant also notes that the Guinness World Records has "officially named Kinect for Xbox 360 the fastest-selling consumer electronics device, which sold an average of 133,333 units per day for a total of eight million units in its first 60 days between November 4, 2010 and January 3, 2011."

Says Guinness:

The sales figures here speak for themselves. According to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.

Kinect, with a bundled game, sells for $140.

I don't play video games, so I don't have one.
It's manufactured for your enjoyment and I say "ENJOY".

    "Why idiot"!
my kids have this controller and they love it.
I think the target for this controller is for family fun not for individual fun.

    Xblade123 is probably a PS3 fanboy/girl?

and before the flurry of insults pour in? I own both!

    Anyway.........

I like Microsoft's response and approach towards the Hacking community and the release of a toolkit.

I miss the link in where show the technology of Kinetic that is going to be use by business man for conference using avatars instead of real people you create your own avatar, exactly like the Xbox 360 dashboard.
