And is this suppose to encourage people to buy pay-TV services?
I would feel pretty ripped off as a paying consumer if I realized my neighbor was downloading the same episode I watched 30 minutes prior.
How does it enhance the value? If anything it's created more of a problem.

Damn the people in charge of these media corporations are stupid (I would say ignorant, but that doesn't really cover it). They do everything in their power to push people away from paying for their products. Why in the hell would I ever want to pay for viewing if they put so many restrictions on it? As killer said, I already pay for viewing these shows in two ways; I pay for cable (could avoid this b/c it's FOX) and I have to watch the f-ing ads that consume the majority of the programming time. Now, if I want the convenience of watching the show at my leisure (w/out having a dvr) I have to pay and I can't watch it right away!? Yeah right, I think I would much rather just DL a HD version from piratebay!

Fox is another stupid media that wants to rip off customers anyway. Things like this just drive customers away, and encourage piracy. Frankly, I very rarely watch Fox programming, so its no big deal to me.

Regardless, it's Fox. Who cares? I haven't watched that channel since I watched Saturday morning cartoons; their programming is just far too ... American? I guess, even though I am American. It's deplorable and sensationalist.
*In all honesty I don't watch any television save for ad-free shows online. Every time I even notice a TV with cable or satellite going I just want to turn it off or plug a nettop into it. Can't really even stand DVR, having to actively filter ads out of your own shows after you've already paid so much money to watch and have the ability to store.
I've said it countless times, but almost $1000.00 a year is a bit much to have to pay just so I can have products shoved down my eyes and ears for what seems like ten minutes out of every thirty. Should be free/cheap with adverts, and maybe (but not really) what we pay now to have without.
Greed has to stop at some point doesn't it? I mean, you can only have so much...

I fail to understand how they can state it will enhance their value. Do they plan to update the quality of their streams? No not freaking likely. Do they plan offer a point system to earn merchandise of a sorts as rewards for loyalty? Not if it cost Fox money... So can Fox please explain how it enhances the value? *They won't, I understand that they don't have too, but if they honestly believe they will see any revenue out of this stunt, they will see soon just how short sighted this idea is; and then as a solution will no longer stream for free but make you pay regardless of how long they make you wait to watch it online...*

This is moronic... I have the 'digital on demand' thing on my cable (I don't know what you call it, can barely use due to a crap navigation so why have the damn thing) and it no way even caters to the network broadcast programming, so going online would be the only way I could pick up a missed show by this definition.
Which means I'm ALREADY PAYING for this garbage! Including the digital demanding - whatever you call it that barely works, stream, scream-o-thon, how much more of my money am I gonna piss away before I burn down a building, go to prison & finally get health care & rent paid? I should make Fox pay for that too. That would be value added. Then they could complain about me on their news casts & bloat the statistics.
Baaah... Now I'm just waxing poetic... or is that artistic? Is there such a thing? Just tired of paying for trash that "they" are supposed to be paying for.

That still doesn't resolve the issue that I pay for off-air broadcasts, digital demand doesn't replay the network shows that either Hulu nor Fox already attest to (which is further paid for through internet access fees), so to jabber on about a redundancy (like the first paragraph) is ludicrous.

In all due honesty, if broadcasters are upset about pirating, then why are they doing everything in their power to make pirating the easy alternative. There are other sites with free streaming of Fox, other network & cable shows, other than Hulu AND the shows are usually available a couple hours after airing. Just sayin'

Screw that and screw Fox! I agree with the first comment. This won't deter downloading TV shows and promote pay services at all. I for one will now be using EZTV or torrents.

Hrmm, i was going to their website and dealing with the ad's they put in the stream just to watch at my convenience and not have to download and store the video. Having Boxee in a HTPC setup it worked well for me and i felt myself and the material originator were getting a fair deal. I guess its now back to bit torrent to get it an hour after air and commercial free. dumb move. Its ok to let an industry die when it has become outdated, such as cable tv. Just move on to the Internet view model, each Broadcaster has a free version that has ads in it like they have now, or if you pay them such as $2 a month, you have access to their feeds ad free. We the consumer can subscribe to the content we WANT to watch and not be forced into ungodly amounts of money for monster TV packages where we dont even want at best 75% of the channels offered. But we had to buy to get the few we wanted. cable TV came about due to the fact that Over the Air Signals sometimes where sub par, they added additional Prem content such as movie channels etc. We have a New delivery medium called the internet, lets cut out the middle men. All content On Demand on a piece meal basis is now possible. The new Middle man is the ISP that gets a flat rate for bandwidth. Run with it! You will make more money in the long run and can increase the variety of your offerings because you would not be limited to a 24 hr day for content. You would also get REAL viewing statistics on show popularity.

At least some can GET Fox! I can't get it because even though I pay for it, the only Fox station on my cable package is in one state while a neighboring state carries Fox over digital over the air. So, naturally, the over the air station evokes a clause allowed in FCC rules to black out the programming on the cable station for Fox. So, I'm paying for a message that says the programming is being blocked. I can only watch on the over the air station, which meant I missed an hour of Fox programming because I couldn't get home to watch it on the over the air station. I can't tape it because there's no alternative. I can only watch it live, watch it online, which I hate, or one other option, which I can't use because no one offered it.
