iPhone 4S owners experiencing issues with SIM card

iPhone 4S owners experiencing issues with SIM card
Apple fans are experiencing a new issue with their new iPhone.

Since its launch last month, iPhone 4S owners have had multiple problems to work through, including excessive battery drain and a non-working Siri.

Now, the latest issue is that the smartphone stops recognizing the SIM card inside, leaving users without a way to make phone calls through cellular service.

At some point during the day, the phone will flash an error message that says the SIM card is not valid or a message that says there is no SIM card inside, at all.

The issues is widespread across multiple carriers and it is unclear whether it is a hardware issue, a software issue or just a plain SIM card issue.

That's what you get for not getting an Android.

They shouldn't worry about it. Don't they know that's how it was designed? Apple stuff always "just works".

Really? I haven't had a single issue with it and I got it on launch date. Theres always a small percentage of phones that have problems. My xperia x10 only lasted me a year minus 1 day. Yeah it kicked the can 1 day before warranty ran out. Oh and I also sent it in twice during that year, and I'm super careful with my phones. Whereas every apple thing I have hasn't given me any problems at all. I used to be anti apple but then I started buying their products and I couldn't be happier.

Most apple haters have never even owned anything apple.

Never really seen a problem with Sony hardware, for the most part it lasts a long time (except the PS3 but that's because Sony can't spend damn 10 cents more per console for some decent thermal paste, [Owner of A01, E01, K01, H01, Slim. Thermal paste replaced right after warranty. All Still kicking])
I still got the original "Discman" by Sony. Took a beating but still works. 1/4th of my Sony tube TV went underwater in a basement flood. Let it dry for a week and it still runs.

Sony TVs catch on fire due to low quality parts, Sony amplifiers overheat at 1/2 power, Sony record players skip on brand new records, the PS2 was famous for laser failures, the PS3 is famous for YLODs, Sony eReaders are famous for screen failures, Sony flash drives usually don't last long enough to fill. Sure, Sony had great stuff 20 years ago when they made your diskman and your tube TV...but that might as well have been a different company.

lol yea, I'm counting on things made pre 05, everything after that has been crap.
The laser failure was alright in my eyes, Sony replaced consoles with those for free and if you knew what you were doing, it was a really really easy fix which anyone could do. Didn't know much about the any of the other problems except the TVs but it's probably a low percentage and at least Sony acknowledged it. The way I see it, Sony is a good company. The Sony Computer Entertainment division is a bunch of greedy a$$holes.

btw anybody saw the silent MacBook pro charger recall?

That Sony experia phone looks the worst. Idk why anyone trying the android OS wouldn't get either an HTC or Samsung. Really your only safe bet. Motorola now that there owned by google. But droid razr is the first moto phone that caught my attention. Anyways Sony and good should not be in the same sentence. If they were good enough, they would not have had to buy their win over HD DVD for blu ray to win, which they'll eventually lose to apples digital iTunes in the format war. They lost their hold on the music player to apples iPod. They are just now turning a profit on the ps3. Phones are terrible in hardware and in design. I will say their tablet is unique. I'd rather have an Asus though. TVs are overpriced. Certainly not a good company.

PS3 was turned into a profit a long time ago and look at the PS3 compared to the 360, PS3 games are starting to look better than 360. I don't see a problem with PS3, their choices helped them.

Maybe exclusives. Take call of duty black ops, terrible looking game on both consoles, but resolution is worst on the ps3. No one enjoys coding for the cell processor. Skyrim is very debatable. I've done my research and it seems about even. I've found that each have their pros and cons though. But if you like it, more power to you

All COD games were coded to 360 and ported to PS3, BF3 for example was coded to take advantage of both systems, that's why it's 2 discs + 1.5GB HD download pack.
I got both systems, I play a lot on both, probably more on 360 (MW2 player w/ friends who have 360) but one thing I really miss on 360 is the platformer/single player storyline based games (Ratchet & Clank, inFAMOUS, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, God of War, Little Big Planet, etc)

Microsoft makes coding easy on developers...the dev consoles are affordable (remember...testers need lots of these), the toolchains are written well, and they support the developers. Arguing that coding for the CELL is difficult makes very little sense...it is a multi-core powerPC processor...just like the chip in the 360...but with twice as many cores. Coding for the PS3 GameOS...that the difficult part.

Yeah ps3 has a lot of great exclusives. There's like gears of war 3, mass effect 3, and i guess halo for this year.

Ps3 has a lot of great exclusives that i'd try...god of war, killzone 3, heavy rain, resistance 3, infamous 2, uncharted and little big planet.

Could you play games on the linux portion of the ps3 when it was allowed?

Nothing fancy...there were a couple of beta emulators for 8-bit games, but that was about it.

Why did they get rid of the linux portion if at launch the ps3 could do that. I would think sony would want every advantage to tout when in the face of microsoft's xbox. Why take it away?

Because Sony thinks that it is them VS their consumers; so when the consumers lose Sony must win...that is the only reason I can think of anyway. I know it was useless for piracy and the removal of OtherOS lured hackers from every corner of the internet, so they obviously didn't do it to prevent piracy as they claimed.

Going back to the sim problem for a second.. could this be due to the people who took Stanley blades to their sim cards to make them become a micro sim so it would would fit the phone, did some damage along the way?

Either that or maybe they are just not holding the phone properly again..? lol

Nooo he said a hardware issue could've been avoided by using an android phone. Which doesn't make much sense. All I did was show my OWN personal experience with my previous android device, xperia x10 (which is an amazing phone), as compared to the iphones I've owned. All I said by using that example is that, TO ME, Apple products are of higher quality. As for android? I used it since 1.6 came out. I liked it a lot, but I feel iOS is more complete and works better. As for android phones as a whole vs iphone? Damn. You know something is good when everybody else is trying to compete against it.

But you gotta understand that there always is always a small (or sometimes larger) percentage of faulty products; in anything you produce this will be true. Sony products being crappy? I've had my ps3 since March 08 and have never had an issue with it. Hell I'll still buy sony products, probably not phones cause they don't support updates very well and cause of my experience.

You call me a hater? You guys took the time to comment on an Apple news about how shitty you think apple is. People need to chillll

It is a great phone and I wish it had lasted longer for me. The huge screen and camera are awesome on that phone and the modded roms I used where pretty cool and kept me busy. Its just that build quality fluctuates among different manufacturers/products, and that turned me off from future sony phones. Plus the better battery life is a plus for me.
