Irony: NOD32 and Kaspersky websites hacked
NOD32 and Kaspersky, the popular anti-virus solutions, have had some of their websites defaced by hackers.

Kapersky's Costa Rican site was hacked by Algerian hackers "Over-X," "indoushka" and "Saousha."

The attackers say it is not the first time the site has been unsecured, and as of earlier today, the site was still down.

NOD32's Ukrainian site (nod32.in.ua) was hit by the hackers KhantastiC haX0r and Shadow008 but has since been restored and re-secured.

The page, when defaced, read: "HellO NoD32. Where is Security ?! Are U Hacked ? Yesh ! U have been Hacked Once Again :D !!! Everyday Someone Get Hacked Today is your Day. Impossible only means it has not been done..."

The same group hit Panda Security last month, as well.

Sad! One isn't seeing Symantec get penetrated.

In fact, they are still ERECT and it is probably quite HARD to SCREW them up!

Symantec have a base in i think it's the UK,it's in an abandoned nuclear fallout shelter underground, the control room is setup with a full lcd map of the world & they track viruses etc in real time,i kid you not can't quite remember where i saw it most probably a documentary on tv about the net.

sorta along the lines of the tv series 24 only the room is much larger

No one is beyond being hacked and no mater who you have for protection you are NEVER fully protected or safe. Symantec & McAffee suck, in my opinion.

Won't use them. Paid bloatware is all they have been for me. I just use AVG Free for viruses/malware and ZoneAlarm Free for firewall. It may not be bulletproof but works better than the paid bloatware that slows everything down.

Doesnt expecting the unexpected make the unexpected expected and therefore mean youre expecting the expected which was the unexpected until you expected it?

This isn't irony; neither of them make good firewalls. Well, Kaspersky is a decent firewall core, but only when combined with the Commodo configuration interface.
