02 blocks access to The Pirate Bay
O2 is the latest ISP to block access to The Pirate Bay.

The move follows last month's UK High Court Order, and O2 is just the latest of the broadband companies to follow the order.

Says a spokesperson: "The main U.K. internet providers were ordered by the high court to block access to specific IP addresses and URLs used by The Pirate Bay website."

At the time of the ruling, BPI CEO Geoff Taylor said: "The High Court has confirmed that The Pirate Bay infringes copyright on a massive scale. Its operators line their pockets by commercially exploiting music and other creative works without paying a penny to the people who created them. This is wrong - musicians, sound engineers and video editors deserve to be paid for their work just like everyone else."

Sky, Everything Everywhere, TalkTalk and Virgin Media have already blocked the site. BT is appealing.

Big deal, for $5 a month(I actually pay 4.95 a month, torrents allowed...), which is as much or less than a mixed drink, you can get a reliable Proxy/VPN service and they can kiss your arse with all the blockades they put up...

Wonder who paid the UK High Court to pass this lousy legislation?

TPB doesn't infringe on anything, that's the BS ruse. By proxy 'maybe, but not blatantly; so how you prosecute the law makers is starting to become foreign to me.

I really am serious, all the science fiction novels/comic books I read as a kid & young adult are coming back to haunt me.

Been kinda preaching it for a few years now... Eggheads will find take millions of dollars & years to find a way to shut the people out & a few creative minds & well meaning deviants will undermine them in less than 24 hours.

Damn right I love it! I worked with these guys in the entertainment industry & the military alike. Wouldn't have it any other way.
