Facebook to finally let you edit comments

Facebook to finally let you edit comments
After years of user complaints, Facebook has finally given in.

Users can now edit comments they have posted to the site, instead of having to delete it and comment again. The old method was annoying because your friend would get two notifications and you'd have to re-type everything even for a basic typo.

The edit option looks like a small pencil on the right side of the comment. Clicking it will bring a dropdown menu with the options to edit or delete as usual.

Additionally, the social networking giant will be "showing the editing history for a comment so that subsequent commenters or likers have the full context of the conversation."

The same problem exists with youtube and I have to say everyone should be able to edit their posts. Well it's a small step forward for man/woman kind and for youtube it's a large step back from not introducing this stuff as well.

You know, I'm kinda glad they didn't let you edit your comments... I had an uncle that stepped on his dick & made all kinds of hateful remarks aimed at my wife. Incredibly stupid statements not becoming the supposed Baptist preacher that he was supposed to be...

So when I had the chance & screen grabbed the entire conversation between he, myself & my wife, it gave me great pleasure in knowing that he couldn't edit his way out out of the bullshit remarks he had already stepped in.

It made me feel better when I hacked his church's email listing & sent them all the details of the dialogue on how their supposed leader was treating one of his family members. Let's just say it wasn't anything reminiscent of the whole Christian atmosphere I've been led to believe.

Though you've able to do something similar for a while already. If you type a comment and immediately notice an error, if you deleted the comment it would instead let you fix any error. I think you have up to a minute to notice a mistake which is enough time.

No, "we" haven't. Along with many other people, I've gleefully avoided Facebook and its tentacles. O, frabjous day.
